Jesus Life- How He is presented in the Gospels
Matthew's Gospel
Jesus' life was a really good role model for all christians. In this Gospel Jesus is presented as the Saviour who has come to fulfill God's Will, not abolish it. He is referred to as the Messiah that Isaiah hoped for, and is described as the great teacher who brings the will of God to the people of Israel, just as Moses did to his people.
Mark's Gospel
Jesus is seen through Peter's eyes a lot in this gospel. He is also constantly with his disciples, he eats, prays and travels with them. They are also present when he preaches and he spends lots of time in their homes and with their families. This gospel is often very specific and detailed on Jesus' humanity. He experiences pain and rejection and shares it with his disciples, because the disciples must share His suffering and death before sharing the glory of his resurrection.
Luke's Gospel
Luke is a well educated man who writes about the events that reflect his belief in the glorified Risen Lord who showed himself on the road to Damascus, Luke constantly refers to Jesus as Lord. he presents jesus as having a special concern for the poor and the outcast. He brings healing, compassion and justice to all
John's Gospel
John's gospel is an eyewitness account of Jesus' life, it was the final Gospel to be written and repeats a lot of things that are mentioned in the others. This is the most theological Gospel of them all and tells us a lot about what Jesus was like. Jesus is, of course, presented as the Son of God and is the One who was always with God and who reveals Him to us. Jesus is God and is the word of God who has been turned into a man and lived among people.
